V.V.2010 Spring VOX Gathering in Cork Date: Feb 7th @ 5pm Venue: An Carrig Health & Leisure Studio, Carrigaline Court Hotel, Cork Host: Open Door Christian Fellowship The VOX Irish Network is getting together for a Spring conference in Cork. Agenda: Worship, Word, prayer & fellowship. Various speakers from around Munster will address the Gathering. Keynote: 'Without a Vision the people perish' -Proverbs 29:13 Be there -get the vision! What is the VOX Gathering? The VOX Gathering is when various christians from around Munster gather together for mutual encouragement & unity. Our unity is in Christ, His Word & the Spirit of God -not in denominationalism. We recognise there are many other christians in Ireland outside of our informal VOX Network and we want to love & support them also. There is One Lord, one Body, His Kingdom of Love & Light. What does VOX mean? Vox is a latin word meaning 'Voice'. VOX is an acronym for 'Voice Of Christ' (X). 'X' is equivalent to the greek letters 'Ch' representing the word 'Christ'. The VOX logo shows the 'V' pictogram as an open bible. This represents our core value in putting the Word first. The 'O' character represents the word 'open' in the middle of the logo to show we are both open to the Word on the one hand and also the Spirit on the other. The 'X' pictogram is in the shape of the Dove logo to show our dependence on the Spirit. VOX is also an important, familiar word in Irish history. One of the earliest christian missionaries to Ireland, St. Patrick had a vision where some Irish people were asking him to come back to Ireland with the gospel. In the vision he was handed a letter entitled 'the Voice of the Irish' (in latin: Vox Hiberniae) - he did respond and came here as a missionary with great courage. May we in Ireland hear the Voice of Christ speaking to us in these times! .
